A Little Bit About Us

We've been at our original site on Camden Road for just over 10 years now. During that time our rehearsal studios have grown in number from the original three back in 1999 to the seven we have now and our recording studio has developed to a point where we have the equipment and personnel to handle just about any musical genre you can think of.

From day one everyone who has ever worked here has been a musician, engineer or producer of some sort and we pride ourselves on being able to use this experience to provide you with a service that we hope has a pretty good understanding of what you want and need from a studio.

You won't find us offering 1000 square feet, sound stage studios or multiple SSL equipped countryside recording retreats though. We are pretty much a grass roots type of organisation and as such tend to have a roughly 50/50 split between signed and unsigned bands and artists. It seems to make for a healthy atmosphere here and we're pretty convinced that's how our people like it.

We all know that making a living from the music business ain't for the faint hearted, but, if you believe you've got something, you're serious about making it your life's work and savvy about the mechanisms that can decide whether you sink or swim, then we'd like to hear from you.

If the chemistry feels right, we will help you develop your songwriting. We'll record and produce your material and use our experience and contacts to plot the best way to market you onwards and upwards.

Past and Present Clients

Whilst we've never been big on blowing our own trumpet, we do realise that some of you who aren't familiar with us do like to get an idea of the kind of people that have entrusted us with their work.

With regards to major labels and television we've done stuff for Atlantic Records, Sony Music, Warners, Universal Music, EMI and Channel 4, whilst the list of musicians includes Amy Winehouse, Babyshambles, Buzzcocks, Hot Chip, Graham Coxon, Ziggy Marley, The Mighty Boosh, Suede, Corrosion of Conformity, Zak Starkey, Big Youth,The Duke Spirit and a whole bunch of other perhaps less celebrated, though nonetheless equally valued clients

A short while back, we decided that with all the facilities at our disposal here, it'd be kind of dumb not to try exploit them to their fullest extent. Thus Zed One Music was born with the aim of producing material with commercally minded artists who we have an affinity with and believe in.
